The Alpamarca Mining Project is located in the Cerro de Pasco department, in the central region of Peru at an altitude of 4800 meters above sea level.
As part of its expansion plan, the demand for the electricity system that supplies energy to the Alpamarca Concentrator will increase from 7.0 MW (Year 2013) to 7.5 MW (Year 2014) and to 15 MW (Year 2015). Therefore, it was required to design and build a new 3 km 50 kV transmission line.
EISAC services were hired to analyze the operation of the electrical system and provide the settings of the protection equipment. Using the ETAP software, load flow, short circuit, protection and coordination, and motor starting studies were performed.
Studies Performed:
- Load Flow
- Short Circuit
- Protective Device Coordination
- Motor Acceleration
