In the pumping stations of the Camisea gas pipeline there are 2 grounding systems. The first grounding system is the initial mesh for the electrical system. The second mesh that exists is called “cathodic mesh” and was conceived as protection against corrosion of the iron pipes and mechanical equipment of the gas pipeline.
In 2019, due to some events related to the electrical protection system, COGA contracted ElectroIntegra to verify if the electrical protection mesh is operating with the values and parameters indicated by the applicable electrical systems standards.
Using the ETAP software, the two meshes were modeled and five operating scenarios were created. The final report of the study gave a list of conclusions and recommendations to be implemented in the future.
